Topical Use of Essential Oils on Children

The dilution rates of the recipes suggested is 15%.  By most view points I have read (French, English, German) is considered appropriate for children age 6 & up, as many oils can already be directly applied to children that age without carrier oil.  A 15% dilution rate is still quite conservative, but helpful when using “spicier” oils;  it’s also cost effective!

Should you use these oils on children between ages 1-5: you would want to reduce total essential oil drops to a maximum of 10 drops per 10 millimeter roller ball, which would give you a 5% dilution rate.

Children under age 2: reduce to 4 drops per 10 millimeter rollerball.
